Every so often I think back to Ying Li and Jiabin Pan, who graced us as principal dancers at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre for 12 years. They produced vivid memories here and when I visited them in China. They now head the Suzhou Ballet Theatre and have built a solid audience base using ballet classics like “Romeo and Juliet” and “Giselle,” but with “a Chinese twist.” It seems that things are going well for the couple — their group has garnered rave reviews from Singapore to Poland.
