Bill T. Jones at the Lincoln MuseumBill T. Jones has made an artistic and personal impact on Pittsburgh on a number of occasions when his ensemble, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, unveiled a number of dramatic works, including the AIDS-inspired “Still/Here” and the anti-war piece, “Blind Date.” Right now, he’s preparing for the world premiere of “Fondly Do We Hope…Fervently Do We Pray,” inspired by Abraham Lincoln, “the one white man he was allowed to love unconditionally.” Set to premiere at Ravinia Festival’s Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial celebration on Sept. 17, followed by an encore performance Sept. 19. If you’ll be in the Chicago area, check the Ravinia Festival. And for more information, there’s Jones interview with the New York Times.
